To begin with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook chicken biryani using 18 ingredients and 16 steps. Here is how you cook it.
The ingredients needed to make Chicken Biryani:
- {Make ready 1 cup of rice.
- {Get 250 gms of curd.
- {Make ready 250 gms of boneless chicken 1inch per piece.
- {Prepare 1/2 packet of biryani masala.
- {Prepare 1/2 tsp of turmeric.
- {Take 1 tbsp of paprika powder.
- {Get 1 tsp of coriander powder.
- {Take 2 of onions.
- {Make ready 1 of tomato.
- {Make ready 1 of potato.
- {Get as needed of chopped coriander.
- {Get 2 of bay leaves.
- {Take 2 of star anise.
- {Take 5-6 of pepper corns.
- {Get 2 tbsp of ghee.
- {Prepare 1/2 tsp of sugar.
- {Get as per taste of salt.
- {Take 1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste.
Instructions to make Chicken Biryani:
- In a bowl marinate chicken adding curd, turmeric, paprika powder, coriander powder, biryani masala, chopped coriander, 1 bay leaf (do not add salt).
- In a vessel add 2tbsp of ghee, star anise,pepper corns & bay leaf.
- Add water and let boil.
- Wash 1 cup of rice and add it to the boiled water.
- Strain the rice once cooked.
- In a pan add 1tbsp of oil and saute onion adding ½tsp sugar and salt.
- Saute untill dark in colour. here the barista is ready. Allow it to cool.
- In a kadai or vessel add in 2tbsp of ghee.
- Add in 1onion and ginger garlic paste and tomato.
- Then add in the marinated chicken and mix well.
- Add in ½ cup of water.
- Cook it covering with a lid.
- Once the chicken is cooked, let the gravy thicken.
- Cut potato into pieces, 1inch each and deep fry and spinkle salt once fried.
- Layer the rice on the gravy adding fried potatoes, chopped coriander and birista.
- Serve with curd raita or salad.
